Tulip Princess Elizabeth

Extending the Floral Season

Princess Elizabeth is a classic late-flowering tulip, a vital asset for growers aiming to capture the late-season market when supply of earlier varieties diminishes. Its status as a single late tulip makes it an excellent choice for stabilizing production schedules and ensuring high-quality cut flowers well into late spring.

Operational Guidelines for Growers

• Cut Flower Production: The variety features a sturdy stem and reliable growth, which facilitates easier harvesting and sorting. Its delicate pink petals are highly sought after by florists for spring arrangements.
• Landscaping Utility: Given its medium height, it performs exceptionally well in formal flowerbeds and landscaping projects, providing a distinct splash of color after the main spring rush.
• Crop Management: Being a very late variety, it requires vigilant pest control, particularly monitoring for thrips as temperatures rise. Consistent irrigation and phosphorus-potassium fertilization during the bud development stage are essential to maximize petal vibrancy and structural integrity.

For commercial cultivation, successful outcomes depend on proper soil preparation and drainage. The 'Princess Elizabeth' variety rewards growers who prioritize precision in irrigation scheduling and preventive plant health management. It is a robust, commercially proven choice for farms looking to maximize margins by extending their cut-flower availability through the final weeks of the tulip season.
