The aster variety "Winter Patterns" is a compact, highly branched bush of pyramidal or bouquet shape, reaching a height of 60-70 cm. The plant is characterized by good growth and sturdy stems, with 6 to 15 flower stalks forming on one bush, ensuring abundant and prolonged flowering. The flowers are double, with a diameter of 8 to 15 cm, resembling chrysanthemums, and feature diverse coloring with a yellow center, making the variety particularly attractive for decorating flower beds, borders, and balconies, as well as for growing in pots.
This aster variety is distinguished by high light-loving properties and frost hardiness, preferring nutrient-rich, well-moistened soils. Sowing seeds for seedlings is recommended in April-June at a depth of about 0.5 cm at a temperature of 15-18 °C, with seedlings appearing in 10-14 days. Seedlings are transplanted after 3-4 weeks, and transplanted into open ground in August. With a direct sowing method, seeds are sown in May-June or in autumn. Regular watering promotes good plant development. Flowering occurs the following year, from April to June.
The variety is resistant to fusarium, which enhances its viability and reduces the risk of diseases. The plant is widely used to decorate flower gardens, rabatki, and rock gardens, and is also suitable for cutting due to sturdy stems and large inflorescences. It is recommended to grow asters in one place for no more than 5-6 years, after which the bushes should be rejuvenated to maintain decorative qualities.
