Tulip Fiona

Garden Reliability: Growing the Fiona Tulip

For professional growers and garden enthusiasts, choosing planting material is about predictability. The 'Fiona' tulip, a simple late-flowering variety, offers excellent performance and ease of maintenance in outdoor conditions.

Disease Resistance and Maintenance

The primary advantage of the Fiona variety is its robust genetic resistance to common pathogens. Working with this variety reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications, as the plant exhibits strong immunity to:

• Peronospora (downy mildew);
• Phomopsis;
• Phoma blight.

This significantly optimizes maintenance costs and simplifies the care schedule, especially during high-humidity seasons when fungal risks are typically at their peak.

Practical Performance

Fiona is a classic simple late tulip characterized by elegant pink petals. With a medium height, the plant remains sturdy and upright without requiring support stakes, maintaining its aesthetic appeal even in windy conditions. This makes it a low-hassle option for any landscaping project.

Operating Cycle

The late blooming period allows you to extend the garden's decorative season long after early-flowering varieties have finished their cycle. Fiona is easy to manage: standard soil preparation and proper planting depth ensure consistent bulb growth. The variety shows excellent long-term reliability; with proper rotation and timely harvesting after the foliage yellows, Fiona consistently produces healthy bulbs for many seasons to come.
