The Astra variety Sofya is an annual plant with an ultra-early flowering period, suitable for both group and single plantings. Bushes reach a height of 60-80 cm, bearing up to 20 strong and elastic flower stalks. The inflorescences have an unusual peony-like shape, 9-12 cm in diameter, and feature an original color scheme: white petal blades are adorned with a dense raspberry blush, while buds on a single plant may open with varying degrees of color saturation, adding special decorative appeal.
The variety is distinguished by high resistance to unfavorable conditions and is suitable for cutting into bouquets, maintaining freshness in a vase for up to 14 days. Thanks to its lush and delicate coloring, the Sofya astra blends beautifully with other garden plants, creating striking compositions. Cutting is possible for individual flowers or entire bushes, which is convenient for floristic purposes.
For successful cultivation, it is recommended to sow seeds in prepared beds with grooves 1-1.5 cm deep and spaced 10-15 cm apart. Seeds are spread evenly, covered with sand and soil, then moistened and covered with plastic or glass for germination at +15-20°C. After seedlings emerge, the cover is removed, thinning is conducted, and weak seedlings are removed, promoting the formation of healthy and sturdy plants.
