Tulip Compostella

Heritage and Resilience

The 'Compostella' tulip is a quintessential representative of the Tulipa greigii class, known for its genetic toughness and structural reliability. Developed as a low-growing variety, it serves as a solution for gardens that require a robust spring bulb capable of resisting common horticultural threats. Its primary breeding strength lies in its natural resistance to Tobacco mosaic virus, Fusarium wilt, and Cladosporium, making it a reliable performer in diverse soil conditions.

Aesthetic Profile

Unlike standard tall-stemmed tulips, 'Compostella' offers a distinctive visual impact. The petals display a sophisticated blend of vibrant red and deep lilac, a color combination that stands out even in shaded or rock garden environments. Its low stature is not merely a botanical characteristic but a functional design feature; it prevents wind damage and makes it the ideal candidate for foreground planting, rockeries, and container displays.
