Tulip Coquette

Status and Market Reputation of Coquette

The Coquette tulip holds a distinct position in the segment of simple early-blooming varieties. This Dutch-bred cultivar is a traditional choice for both professional forcing production and spring landscape design. Due to its stability, it has established itself as a reliable asset for growers who prioritize consistent, early-season flowering.

Agricultural Potential

The core value of Coquette lies in its robust genetic resilience. Unlike many early tulips, this variety exhibits high resistance to key pathogens that threaten crop viability:

• Fusarium wilt;
• Verticillium wilt;
• Tomato mosaic virus;
• Cladosporium.

This resistance helps reduce the reliance on fungicides, which is critical for sustainable floriculture. The plant features a medium stem height, making it ideal for high-density planting and the creation of uniform beds. The pure white petals give the flower a classic, elegant appearance highly sought after for floral arrangements.

Market Position

Classified as a mid-blooming representative of the simple early tulip group, Coquette is valued for its predictability. Growers receive reliable outcomes regarding both timing and bud quality. It is the preferred choice for those who focus on mitigating crop loss risks caused by diseases while maintaining the aesthetic appeal of a classic white flower.
