Tulip Carola

Stability and Operational Predictability

The 'Carola' tulip, a member of the Triumph class, proves itself as an exceptionally cooperative variety in intensive cultivation environments. Its primary benefit for the operator is the remarkable uniformity of the planting. Unlike more temperamental groups, 'Carola' does not require complex agrotechnical interventions: the plants develop harmoniously, forming a medium-height stem that holds the bud securely even in windy conditions.

Phytosanitary Resilience: Simplifying Maintenance

In terms of sanitary control, this variety demonstrates enviable autonomy. Its innate resistance to late blight (phytophthora) and common scab significantly simplifies the treatment calendar. Growers do not need to overload their fields with chemicals, which directly reduces production costs. Furthermore, its immunity to potato cancer and golden potato nematode makes this tulip a secure choice, even for plots with challenging crop rotation histories.

Blooming and Performance

As a mid-season bloomer, 'Carola' offers high commercial appeal. The pink hue of the petals is saturated yet elegant, making the flower highly versatile for floral compositions. During the forcing process, maintaining a steady temperature is critical, as 'Carola' is sensitive to sharp fluctuations, which can trigger premature opening of the flower head.

• Pathogen resistance: Low risk of fungal disease development with standard irrigation management.
• Technological efficiency: The medium-height profile allows for efficient mechanized planting and harvesting.
• Post-harvest durability: The classic 'Triumph' cup shape maintains its density and structural integrity for a long period after cutting.
