Tulip Capri Dream

Aesthetics meet resilience

The 'Capri Dream' tulip belongs to the 'Triumph' class, highly regarded for its classic, perfect cup geometry. Unlike many varieties in this class that tend to grow excessively leggy, this hybrid maintains an ideal, compact stature at an average height. This makes it an excellent candidate for both greenhouse production and open-field cut flower cultivation.

Key Strengths

• Disease Resistance: The breeders focused heavily on plant health. 'Capri Dream' displays high resistance to verticillium wilt, fusarium wilt, and cladosporiosis, significantly reducing crop loss during unpredictable seasonal weather.
• Long-lasting Foliage: Thanks to its natural defense against the tomato mosaic virus, the plant retains clean, healthy-looking foliage well into the bloom period, which is often a weak point in other pink-hued cultivars.

Bloom Characteristics

The pink color of the petals is notably deep and saturated, maintaining its vibrancy even under direct sunlight. As a mid-season bloomer, it provides the perfect market timing, bridging the gap between early varieties and peak-season hybrids. Its compact growth habit ensures the stems remain sturdy, reducing the need for additional support and simplifying overall field maintenance.

For growers looking to balance aesthetic appeal with production predictability, 'Capri Dream' is a reliable choice. The variety is forgiving of minor agronomic mistakes, particularly during humid spells, thanks to its robust resistance profile. It represents a low-maintenance, high-return option for those prioritizing plant health alongside commercial quality.
