Tulip Bruno Liljefors

A Vibrant Accent for the Early Garden

The Bruno Lilefors tulip belongs to the Early Double group, making it one of the first heralds of spring. Unlike standard cup-shaped tulips, this variety captures attention with its densely petaled structure: heavy, lush buds resemble peonies, unfolding into saturated orange hues with subtle golden undertones.

Key Features and Cultivation

• Bud Form: Multi-petaled flowers reaching 8–10 cm in diameter, resistant to spring winds due to a sturdy stem.
• Height: A mid-sized variety, growing between 35–45 cm, perfect for both group plantings and foreground borders.
• Blooming Period: Early-season, providing a vibrant focal point before the mass blooming of later varieties.

Strengths: The primary advantage of Bruno Lilefors is its visual impact. Due to the intense color of its petals, it stands out against green foliage and pairs beautifully with blue muscari or white daffodils. The density of the bud ensures long-lasting display, as the flower remains intact even during temperature fluctuations.

Considerations: Like most Early Double tulips, this variety requires good light. In deep shade, the stem may stretch excessively, compromising its structural integrity. It thrives in sunny, well-drained spots protected from strong winds.

Who is this for? Bruno Lilefors is an ideal choice for landscape designers creating spring palettes, as well as home gardeners who value dense, luxurious blooms that bring depth to a garden in the first weeks of warmth.
