Tulip Bleu Aimable

Late-season performance and disease resistance

The 'Bleu Aimable' tulip, a classic representative of the Single Late class, is a staple for growers aiming to extend their harvesting season. Known for its deep, rich lilac-purple hue, this cultivar is valued in professional production for its robust field performance and reliable quality output.

Key agrotechnical advantages

The primary benefit of 'Bleu Aimable' for commercial operations is its natural genetic resilience, which significantly reduces the need for intensive fungicide applications and lowers crop loss risks:

• Fungal resistance: The cultivar displays excellent tolerance to both Verticillium wilt and Fusarium wilt, ensuring healthy bulb longevity during both storage and the growing phase.
• Disease immunity: It maintains high resistance to Tobacco Mosaic Virus and Cladosporium, preserving both the stem integrity and the quality of the foliage, which is essential for market-grade cut flowers.

Operational use

Commercial producers integrate 'Bleu Aimable' into their planting schedules to capture the late-season market window. The tall, sturdy stems allow for efficient harvesting processes, making it well-suited for automated sorting and packing lines. Because the flowers maintain excellent post-harvest shelf life, this variety is highly favored for long-distance wholesale distribution. It is the go-to selection for floral designers looking for a sophisticated, cool-toned violet color palette.
