Tulip Milano

Stability and Predictability in Late-Season Bloom

For those involved in professional tulip forcing or large-scale landscape projects, the 'Milano' variety serves as a highly reliable tool. As a simple late-flowering tulip, it requires specific planning: you receive a robust, tall stem that holds a large yellow bloom firmly, even in the conditions of late spring.

Agricultural Protection: Results-Oriented

The primary concern for any producer is disease-related crop loss. 'Milano' mitigates this risk through its natural resistance to a wide range of pathogens. You won't need to over-allocate resources for additional fungicide treatments, as the variety exhibits inherent immunity to:

• Verticillium and Fusarium wilt (critically important for high-density plantings).
• Tobacco Mosaic Virus.
• Cladosporiosis.

This level of resistance ensures a predictable harvest, yielding a high percentage of premium bulbs without surface blemishes or stem deformities.

Operational Handling and Maintenance

The significant height of the flower stalk requires locations sheltered from strong winds in open-field cultivation. In greenhouse conditions, 'Milano' behaves predictably: it does not exhibit excessive stretching, maintaining ideal proportions, which simplifies logistics and harvesting. Its late flowering period allows for flexible sales scheduling, capturing the market segment just as early varieties finish blooming.
