Triticale SunCedar Kharkivskiy

Spring Triticale Innovation from the Yuriev Institute

"Sontsedar Kharkivskyi" stands as a hallmark of Ukrainian plant breeding, developed by the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute of NAAS. As a spring triticale variety, it provides farmers with a versatile tool for crop rotation, particularly in areas where spring sowing is the preferred strategy for stabilizing yields. With a plant height of 90–100 cm, this variety balances biomass production with excellent lodging resistance, ensuring reliable harvesting results even under variable weather conditions.

Advanced Phytosanitary Resistance

The core value of this variety lies in its natural, genetically programmed immunity to major cereal pathogens. By focusing on robustness, the breeding team has ensured that "Sontsedar Kharkivskyi" maintains high productivity without heavy reliance on intensive fungicide programs. The variety shows significant resistance to:

• Bunt (Stinking Smut);
• Brown Wheat Rust.

Furthermore, it demonstrates strong performance against plant rust, onion stem smut, and powdery mildew. This natural defense profile makes it an economically sound choice for growers looking to reduce production costs and environmental impact while maintaining a high yield standard.

Market Position

In the current agricultural market, "Sontsedar Kharkivskyi" is recognized as a dependable solution for producers aiming for crop predictability. Its adaptability to the Ukrainian climate, combined with the credibility of the Yuriev Institute’s pedigree, makes it a top-tier choice for both forage and industrial grain production. It is a choice for farmers who prioritize efficiency, disease resilience, and a proven track record in modern agro-technological systems.
