Focusing on Dent Grain: Achieving Stable Yields

Austrian genetics from Saatbau Linz eGen, represented by the «Arcadio» hybrid, serve as a reliable tool for farmers focused on high-intensity grain production. The primary advantage of this hybrid is its efficient moisture utilization during the grain-filling stage, which is crucial for regions with unpredictable summer precipitation.

Agrotechnical Features

«Arcadio» is a simple hybrid featuring distinct dent-type grain. This morphological trait ensures excellent moisture release, allowing for an earlier harvest and significant savings on post-harvest grain drying costs. This is a critical factor for maintaining profitability on large-scale operations where timing is essential to avoid autumn rainfall.

Planting Density Guidelines

The flexibility of the hybrid allows growers to adjust seeding rates based on soil potential and local technical capacity:

• 60,000–65,000 plants/ha: Optimal for areas with higher environmental risks or moderate mineral nutrition levels, helping to reduce competition for soil moisture.
• 70,000–75,000 plants/ha: Ideal for high-intensity cultivation on fertile soils, where the hybrid maximizes its grain-filling potential.

Field experience shows that «Arcadio» responds well to timely nitrogen application and effective pest management during early vegetative growth. By choosing this hybrid, producers gain access to high-quality Austrian seed stock, ensuring high germination energy and uniform stand establishment, even in the face of variable spring weather conditions.
