CASCADE RUBY

CASCADE RUBY — an early-maturing and very productive tomato variety with a prolonged fruiting period. The plant is medium to tall, allowing it to be grown both in greenhouses and open ground, primarily in southern regions. From germination to ripening, it takes approximately 90-95 days. For planting, seedlings should be sown at the beginning of March and pricked out when the first true leaf appears. Transplanting seedlings into greenhouses and polytunnels should be done in May, following a 40x60 cm spacing. After transplanting, plants are trained to a single stem, removing suckers and lower leaves, and tied to supports for better growth and fruiting.

The fruits of the CASCADE RUBY variety are bright red or ruby-red in color, have a firm texture, and are egg-shaped or plum-shaped. The weight of one tomato reaches 15-25 grams, and a long cluster can contain 15 to 20 or more fruits. The taste of these cherry tomatoes is exceptional — juicy and sweet, making them ideal for fresh consumption. Additionally, they are excellent for making salads, sandwiches, sauces, as well as for drying, preserving, and freezing.

This variety is resistant to major tomato diseases, simplifying care and increasing crop reliability. Seeds retain viability up to 10 years under proper storage conditions, but it is recommended to increase sowing rates at the end of the shelf life to ensure good germination.
