Tomato SALTY NUMBER

Operational efficiency of the Solny Nomer tomato variety

For large-scale agricultural operations, the choice of a determinant tomato variety often comes down to maintainability and yield reliability. «Solny Nomer», developed by the SB RAS, is engineered as a robust tool for consistent production. Its growth habit eliminates the need for intensive staking and pruning, significantly reducing labor costs per hectare.

Management and Performance

From an operator's perspective, this variety is highly predictable. The determinant growth ensures the plant focuses its energy on fruit set rather than vegetative expansion. With a ripening window of 90-100 days, it allows for efficient harvest planning and quick turnover. Given the high yield potential of 70-100 tons per hectare, it performs best when integrated into a standard, well-managed fertilization and irrigation scheme.

Key Specifications

• Fruit Weight: 20-40 grams, perfect for canning or premium cocktail packs.
• Shape and Durability: Red, egg-shaped fruits with tough skin, ideal for mechanized handling.
• Resilience: Bred to withstand temperature fluctuations, maintaining fruit integrity during transport.

The primary advantage of «Solny Nomer» is its high output-to-labor ratio. The dense fruit structure ensures minimal damage during bulk transport, keeping spoilage rates low. It is a no-nonsense variety that delivers the promised performance without requiring specialized growth stimulants, making it an excellent choice for farmers looking to maximize yield while keeping operational complexity at a minimum.
