Tomato BONSAI

The compact favorite for your windowsill

The «Bonsai» tomato from the Gavrish breeding company is a gold standard for indoor and balcony gardening. Unlike indeterminate varieties that require complex support systems and pruning, this determinate (bush) variety was specifically engineered for restricted spaces. Typically reaching only 30-40 centimeters in height, it thrives in pots as small as 2-3 liters, making it a perfect fit for urban spaces.

Why choose the Bonsai variety?

• Early maturation: You can harvest your first crop in just 85-90 days after germination, making it one of the fastest varieties for home growers.
• Low maintenance: The sturdy stem structure does not require pruning or staking, which significantly simplifies care for novice gardeners.
• Flavorful produce: Despite their miniature size (20-40 grams per fruit), these tomatoes offer a classic rich flavor and firm skin, suitable for both fresh salads and canning.

Cultivation tips

The main strength of «Bonsai» lies in its dual nature: it is both highly productive and incredibly decorative. During the fruiting phase, the plant resembles a vibrant red bouquet. However, because it is a container-bound crop, water management is key. Since small pots have limited moisture storage, it is crucial to maintain consistent hydration to ensure optimal yield and prevent fruit cracking.

Who is this for? It is an impeccable choice for city dwellers aiming to create a «kitchen garden» at home, as well as for those looking for a low-maintenance, space-saving crop for dense planting in greenhouses or limited outdoor patches.
