Timothy Grass Vasilinka

Engineering Turf Quality: The Efficiency of 'Vasilinka'

Timothy grass of the 'Vasilinka' variety is a product of selective breeding by the Institute of Agriculture of the NAAS, specifically engineered to produce dense turf. Unlike forage-type varieties, this cultivar is optimized for ornamental purposes, which significantly alters internode structure and tiller density.

Technical Specifications of Vegetative Mass

• Bush Architecture: The variety exhibits high tillering rates, which is critical for forming a compact sod. Uniform shoot distribution minimizes gaps and prevents weed invasion.
• Growth Dynamics: Through rigorous selection, 'Vasilinka' retains an intense leaf color throughout the entire growing season. The leaf possesses moderate stiffness, providing high resistance to mechanical stress when used in ornamental lawns.
• Adaptability: Developed for Ukraine's climate, the variety features a robust root system. This ensures superior winter hardiness and drought tolerance, allowing the turf to maintain its aesthetic appeal without the need for excessive irrigation.

Practical Application

The engineering objective of 'Vasilinka' is to balance aesthetics with biological endurance. This cultivar is well-suited for high-quality lawns in public parks and private gardens. Its low tillering node position allows for consistent mowing without compromising the plant's regenerative capacity. With proper agronomic management, the variety forms a dense, resilient carpet that maintains its professional appearance even under soil moisture deficits.
