Timothy Grass VEILANT

Efficient Hay Production with French Genetics

The Veillant timothy grass from Maisadour Semences is engineered for agricultural operations prioritizing high-yield hay production. Unlike general-purpose varieties, this cultivar is specifically bred in France to excel in cutting-based management systems.

Key Operational Benefits

• Optimized Nutritional Profile: Veillant is selected to maintain an ideal leaf-to-stem ratio, ensuring high protein content in the final hay product, which is vital for livestock performance.
• Streamlined Harvest Operations: The uniform growth pattern of the variety allows for predictable harvesting windows. Its structural integrity ensures smooth mower operation and efficient baling, minimizing field losses.
• Robust Regrowth: Under adequate moisture conditions, Veillant demonstrates rapid recovery after cutting, enabling multiple harvest cycles within a single season without exhausting the root system.

In practice, Veillant performs best on fertile soils with good moisture retention. Its ability to establish a dense stand serves as a natural weed suppressant, resulting in cleaner forage and reducing the need for chemical intervention. Whether used as a pure stand or as a key component in a hay-production mix, the variety delivers consistent density and yield.

For farm managers looking to optimize their forage base, Veillant offers a reliable solution that balances durability with ease of maintenance. It is a productive tool for professional farming, providing the structural quality needed for premium hay production while standing up to the rigors of modern machinery.
