Timothy Grass Charivna horianka

A Breeding Breakthrough for Ukrainian Meadows

The 'Charivna Horyanka' timothy grass variety is the result of years of research by breeders at the Prykarpatska State Agricultural Research Station of the Institute of Agriculture of the Carpathian Region (NAAS). Registered in 2018, this variety embodies adaptability to the challenging conditions of Western Ukraine, serving as a reliable tool for establishing highly productive hayfields and pastures.

Adaptation and Morphology

Experts developed 'Charivna Horyanka' as a diploid variety tailored for the Forest-Steppe and Polissya zones. Unlike many introduced alternatives, this variety demonstrates balanced development: while it shows a slow rate of inflorescence formation in the seeding year, it exhibits excellent growth energy by the second year. The plant forms an intermediate bush type with long stems, significantly increasing the yield of green mass during harvesting.

Technical Specifications

• Usage: Meadow and pasture.
• Morphological features: Narrow flag leaf of medium length, green vegetative mass, inflorescences ranging from short to medium.

Choosing 'Charivna Horyanka' means investing in domestic breeding that accounts for the specific soil and climatic conditions of Ukraine. Yield stability and resistance to local agro-climatic factors make this variety an optimal solution for farms aiming to establish durable and nutritious grasslands.
