Fragrant Bed is a perennial herbaceous plant that grows quickly and does not require special care conditions. The early-maturing variety allows for the first harvest of greens in just 35–40 days after spring regrowth, while growth continues for 2–3 weeks in subsequent years. Bushes are dense, prostrate, with a height of 25–30 cm and a diameter of 30–35 cm, with a mass of one piece being 35–50 g, which ensures a yield of about 0.3–0.5 kg/m².
For growing the bed, the seedling method is used: seeds are sown in March, and seedlings appear in two weeks. After the first true leaves appear, the plants are transplanted and prepared for transplanting into open ground after the threat of frost ends. Direct sowing in early spring or under winter is also possible. The plant prefers neutral acidity soils, light texture, sunny exposure, and does not tolerate waterlogging.
Fragrant Bed is valued both in cooking and in medicine: fresh greens are added to dishes, and dried leaves are used for tea flavoring. Thanks to essential oils, the plant has a pleasant taste and aroma, making it an indispensable ingredient for lovers of spicy dishes and those looking for natural health remedies.
