ASTRONAUT

Sweet corn ASTRONAUT F1 is a mid-season SH2 type hybrid with a vegetative period of about 78 days. The plant is characterized by compactness, vigor, and high productivity, enabling the formation of two full cobs even under stressful conditions. The hybrid is resistant to lodging, a broad spectrum of diseases including leaf helminthosporium, and exhibits moderate resistance to corn rust and southern rust. Additionally, ASTRONAUT demonstrates resistance to herbicides containing mesotrione andnicosulfuron, facilitating crop management.

The corn cobs have a cylindrical shape, length of about 20 cm, and diameter up to 5.5 cm. The kernels are dark yellow, shiny, and smooth, arranged in 20 rows with depth of approximately 11-12 mm. The sugar content in the kernels reaches 13%, imparting excellent taste qualities to the product. The potential yield of the hybrid is up to 22 tons per hectare, making it attractive for commercial cultivation.
