Sweetclover BELOGOR

Efficient soil ameliorant and honey plant: the potential of Belogor sweet clover

The Belogor white sweet clover variety, developed by breeder Vladimir Ivanovich Chernyavskikh, is currently one of the most sought-after solutions for farms practicing organic farming and intensive crop rotation. It is favored by producers who need to restore soil structure in a short timeframe while simultaneously providing their apiaries with a stable food base.

Agrotechnical role: the soil "surgeon"

The primary value of Belogor lies in its robust root system, capable of penetrating compacted soil layers, providing drainage and improving aeration. Integrating this variety into a crop rotation helps address the "plow pan" problem without the need for intensive deep tillage. As a green manure, Belogor fixes significant amounts of atmospheric nitrogen, enriching the soil with organic matter that rivals the nutritional value of manure.

Practical use cases

• Soil Fertility: Incorporating the green mass during the budding phase allows for a rapid increase in humus content, particularly in sandy or saline soils.
• Apiculture Support: The variety is known for high nectar productivity. It is sown to create a continuous nectar flow, as the flowering period of Belogor provides forage during "nectar dearth" periods.
• Forage Production: Thanks to its dense foliage, the crop yields high-quality biomass suitable for haylage, provided it is harvested before the stems become overly lignified.

Belogor is the choice for those prioritizing biological farming, balancing increased yields of primary crops with robust support for pollinators and honeybee colonies.
