VK 1-SUR — ultra-early sunflower variety with a vegetation period of 74-78 days, enabling the harvest of a second crop per year after winter crops. This variety is characterized by stable productivity under various climatic conditions, including northern regions with a frost-free period of at least 110 days. Plants are low-growing, ranging from 140 to 170 cm in height, with flower heads 19-23 cm in diameter. Seeds are dark gray, medium-sized, and have a high oil content, making this variety attractive for oilseed production.
VK 1-SUR is distinguished by high resistance to lodging, drought, and cold, tolerating frosts down to -7°C. It also exhibits high resistance to downy mildew (5 rating A-E), ensuring reliable cultivation across various agroclimatic zones of Ukraine. Potential yield ranges from 20-30 ц/га (2-3 т/га), confirming its high productivity under conventional cultivation techniques.
For sowing, use treated seeds weighing approximately 8.7 kg per sowing unit, treated with thiophanate-methyl, thiabendazole, and metalaxyl-M for disease protection. The latest sowing date is July 20, allowing flexible planning of agronomic activities. VK 1-SUR is suitable for cultivation in all climatic zones of Ukraine, especially under conditions requiring resistance to adverse factors and rapid maturation.
