Sunflower SHANTARAM

Efficient Weed Management with High Oil Content

The sunflower hybrid "Shantaram" by "Ooo Areket Rus" is engineered for professional farmers who prioritize clean fields and high-tech cultivation methods. Designed for use with the Clearfield (Euro-Lightning) herbicide system, this hybrid provides an effective shield against a broad spectrum of weeds and parasitic plants like broomrape, which are often the primary limiting factors for yield in sunflower production.

Field Performance and Economic Benefits

• Herbicide Tolerance: The primary operational advantage is full resistance to imidazoline-based herbicides. This allows for a single-pass post-emergence control strategy, significantly reducing labor and machine hours spent on mechanical inter-row cultivation.
• Optimized Growth Cycle: With a growing season of 90–100 days, Shantaram is well-suited for regions where early harvesting is a logistical necessity to prepare for winter crop sowing or to avoid late-season weather risks.
• High Oil Yield: The grain consistently reaches an oil content of 45–50%, meeting the requirements of modern processing facilities and ensuring better prices at the point of sale.

As developed by the originator "Areket Rus," this hybrid focuses on practical reliability. Shantaram demonstrates strong lodging resistance and uniform ripening, which makes harvesting smoother and more efficient. It is an excellent choice for intensive farming operations where controlling weed competition early in the season is vital for maximizing genetic yield potential.
