Sugar beet Sunny

Domestic genetics for high-sugar production

The «Sonyachnyi» sugar beet variety represents a significant achievement of the Institute of Bioenergy Crops and Sugar Beet of the NAAS. Developed specifically for Ukrainian agro-climatic conditions, this variety has earned a reputation as a reliable and cost-effective choice for modern agricultural producers.

Productivity and Technical Profile

The core advantage of «Sonyachnyi» lies in its stable sugar accumulation, which ranges from 17% to 20%. Such high content makes it a sought-after variety for sugar factories. The conical shape of the root crop is engineered to facilitate efficient machine harvesting, ensuring that mechanical stress is minimized during the digging process, which in turn reduces field losses.

Cultivation Guidelines

To unlock the full genetic potential of this variety, growers should pay close attention to plant density, which is critical for maximizing yields in varying soil environments:

• Standard planting density: 80,000 to 90,000 plants per hectare.
• High-intensity planting: up to 90,000–100,000 plants per hectare for soils with optimal moisture levels.

«Sonyachnyi» stands out due to its high plasticity—it adapts well to different regions without the intensive chemical reliance sometimes required by foreign hybrids. By choosing this domestic variety, farmers secure a high-quality product that aligns with both local soil capabilities and the economic requirements of profitable sugar production.
