Sunflower Sirius is a decorative annual herbaceous plant reaching a height of 100-120 cm. It is distinguished by a unique flower shape, forming numerous double florets bordered by single ray florets at the edge. The flowers are rich yellow with a bronze center, giving the plant an expressive and attractive appearance. The flowering period lasts from June to September, allowing for a long enjoyment of its decorative qualities.
The Sirius hybrid was obtained by crossing two parental lines LD10 and LD20, which ensured it an original flower head and light yellow coloring of ray florets in combination with purple coloring of tubular florets. The plant has a compact habitus and belongs to the medium-early group, making it convenient for growing in various conditions. The hybrid's originator is the FGBNU FNC VNIIIMK.
To achieve maximum decorative effect, the Sirius sunflower is recommended for growing in sunny locations with sufficiently fertile soils. It is ideal for planting in flower beds in large groups and is also used for cutting, allowing for its use in the decorative design of interiors and landscapes.
