Sunflower KS 3225

Genetic Architecture of the KS 3225 Hybrid

The KS 3225 sunflower hybrid, a product of «Heneks Ukraina», represents a significant achievement in local Ukrainian breeding, specifically tailored to regional climate realities. The originators, Oleksii Shabatko and Vitalii Karunnyi, prioritized stable head development and resistance to stress factors common in intensive farming.

Agronomic Advantages

• Yield Potential: The hybrid demonstrates high adaptability to various soil types, mitigating risks when cultivating fields with different fertility levels.
• Plant Architecture: A moderate stem height, combined with a robust root system, enables the plant to efficiently utilize moisture from deeper soil layers during periods of drought.
• Resilience: The core solution lies in genetic resistance to common phytopathogens, which reduces the need for fungicide applications and lowers overall production costs.

The practical value of KS 3225 lies in its predictable development cycle. For an agronomist, this translates into crop uniformity, which is critical for mechanized field operations, particularly during harvest. Even ripening of the sunflower heads minimizes seed loss during threshing, while the high quality of the achenes ensures reliable oil content levels for elevator delivery.

Using this hybrid is justified for farms focused on a systematic approach, where the priority is not only maximum gross yield but also resource logistics optimization due to the crop’s high plasticity.
