Sunflower Predator

Stability and oil content: why growers choose "Predator"

For farmers operating in regions with high fungal disease pressure, the "Predator" sunflower hybrid from "AF Ukrainske nasinnya" serves as a practical tool to mitigate biological losses. Its robust genetic resistance to downy mildew (peronosporosis), phoma, and phomopsis allows for the optimization of crop protection costs, which is essential for maintaining farm profitability during the season.

Cultivation scenarios

With a vegetation period of 100-110 days, this hybrid is classified as medium-early. This makes it an ideal choice for operations that:

• Need to clear fields in time for winter crop sowing (winter wheat or rapeseed).
• Work in regions with unstable precipitation, where it is critical to finish crop development before the peak of mid-summer drought.
• Require a reliable, high-performing crop that fits well into standard agronomic practices.

The medium seed size ensures ease of drill calibration, leading to consistent seeding depth and high field emergence. A reliable oil content of 45-50% ensures high marketability and allows farmers to aim for better premiums at processing plants that value quality raw materials.

Agronomic insights

Choosing "Predator" is a strategic decision for fields requiring consistent results. The hybrid demonstrates excellent responsiveness to mineral fertilizers. Its primary advantage lies in its ability to maintain yield potential even under moderate infection pressure. This variety is well-suited for intensive crop rotation systems where reliability and consistent plant health are prioritized from planting to harvest.
