Sunflower KAPEA ST

Genetic Potential and Adaptability

In the "Kapea ST" model, French breeder Mas Seeds focused on balancing early maturity with high oil content. With a growing season of 100–110 days, this sunflower hybrid allows farmers to efficiently plan their harvest campaign while mitigating late-season weather risks. The compact plant architecture (150–160 cm) significantly reduces wind resistance, effectively preventing lodging even in high-density plantings.

Phytosanitary Resilience

A key technical strength of "Kapea ST" is its reinforced genetic response to the most aggressive pathogens found in temperate climates. Robust resistance to Sclerotinia (white mold) and Phoma (black stem) is provided by a complex set of genes integrated by the originator. In practice, this translates into a tangible economic advantage: reduced reliance on repeated fungicide applications and maintained leaf photosynthetic activity right up to physiological maturity.

Harvest Economics

• Oil Yield: A 45–50% oil content, when managed with optimal agronomic practices, ensures high commercial grain quality.
• Field Manageability: Compact plant size simplifies harvesting logistics and reduces grain loss during combine operation.
• French Quality Standards: Authentic Mas Seeds genetics ensure line purity and uniform field emergence, essential for maximizing the efficiency of modern wide-header combines.

Choosing "Kapea ST" is a strategic investment for fields with a high disease pressure, where the primary objective is delivering consistent, high-oil-content yields while minimizing crop protection overheads.
