Sunflower hybrid Avalon is a high-yielding hybrid developed by the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crop Research of the Republic of Serbia. This hybrid is intended for cultivation using traditional technology and exhibits high resistance to 7 or more strains of the sunflower moth, ensuring reliable protection against this pest. Avalon also possesses high resistance to drought, cold, and various soil-borne diseases, making it a versatile and reliable choice for different climatic conditions.
Avalon sunflower seeds have a high oil content, reaching 47-52%, which contributes to obtaining a high-quality, oil-rich yield. The hybrid has a vegetation period of 102 to 107 days and plant height ranging from 175-185 cm, which is optimal for traditional agronomic practices. The yield potential reaches 5.3 tons per hectare, confirming its efficiency and economic attractiveness for farmers.
Avalon seeds undergo premium treatment, including treatment with three fungicides — fludioxonil, metalaxyl-M, and thiuram — providing protection against soil-borne diseases. In addition, the seeds are treated with a growth stimulator and a complex of microfertilizers, which promotes rapid and vigorous seedling emergence. The product is packaged in three-layer paper bags with holograms and accompanied by a quality certificate, guaranteeing the authenticity and high standards of the seed material.
