Sunflower Priz

Consistency in challenging environments

The «Priz» sunflower variety, developed by the Institute of Oilseed Crops of NAAS, stands out as a reliable choice for farmers looking for cost-effective production without sacrificing oil content. With an oil output of 50-55%, it bridges the gap between traditional reliability and modern quality requirements.

Key Advantages

• Robust Disease Resistance: Bred specifically to withstand local stressors, this variety exhibits high tolerance to white and grey rot, downy mildew, phomopsis, and phoma, significantly reducing the need for intensive chemical interventions.
• Balanced Growth Cycle: With a 100-110 day vegetation period, it provides flexibility in crop rotation, allowing for early harvesting and efficient preparation for winter crop planting.
• Reliability: Unlike high-maintenance hybrids, «Priz» is optimized for stable yields across varied soil conditions common in the Ukrainian steppe and forest-steppe zones.

Why choose this variety?

«Priz» is a prime asset for agricultural enterprises focused on optimizing production costs. Its primary strength lies in its ability to resist common pathogens naturally, minimizing crop loss risks. While it may not reach the absolute top-end yield peaks of premium hybrids on high-input farms, its strength is its low-risk profile. It is the optimal choice for sustainable farming practices where minimizing chemical inputs and ensuring a consistent, profitable harvest are the main priorities.
