NOVOANNINSKY 2 is a sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) hybrid of early and medium-early maturity types with high oil content in seeds. The plant is characterized by its tall stature, lack of branching, and moderate stem hairiness in the upper part. Leaves are of medium size, heart-shaped, and green without anthocyanin pigmentation. The head is of medium size; at maturity, it is oriented downwards, ranging from half-turned down to fully turned down. Seeds are large, oval-elongated in shape, with a black main coloration and distinct marginal stripes. The mass of 1000 seeds is approximately 53.4 g. The hybrid is characterized by high fat content in seeds — averaging about 44.2–49.9%, with oleic acid content reaching 48.8%, ensuring high-quality oil. The vegetative period is approximately 112.5 days, flowering occurs late, and leaf blistering is weak. NOVOANNINSKY 2 shows moderate resistance to downy mildew and mild rust infection in the Lower Volga region, but in the Central Black Earth region, it may suffer from severe phoma infection. The hybrid has high productivity potential, achieving an average yield of 21.1 c/ha and up to 32.8 c/ha in the Lower Volga region. For southern regions, it demonstrates the highest yield among Clearfield Plus system hybrids, with a productivity potential of up to 50-52% and seed oil content of 50-52%. NOVOANNINSKY 2 is adapted to zones with insufficient moisture, and its powerful, fast-growing plants effectively suppress weed development, contributing to stable and high yields.
