VK 580

VK 580 is a mid-early sunflower hybrid with high yield potential and adapted for the use of the herbicide Express. This hybrid is characterized by excellent drought tolerance and plasticity, allowing for successful cultivation in various climatic conditions, especially in the Forest-Steppe and Steppe zones of Ukraine. Plants reach a height of about 155-170 cm, have a flat head with a diameter of approximately 15.8-16.5 cm, and large seeds with a mass of 1000 pieces of about 72 grams. The oil content in the seeds reaches 48%, making this hybrid attractive for the production of oilseed products.

Hybrid VK 580 is distinguished by high resistance to diseases and pests. It is genetically resistant to seven races of sunflower downy mildew and new races of powdery mildew, and is tolerant to herbicides based on tribenuron-methyl, which allows for effective control of broadleaf weeds without negative aftereffects on the soil. High resistance indicators to such diseases as Phoma, Phoma stem rot, white root and head rot, black rot, and dry rot ensure crop stability and reduce the risk of losses.

To achieve maximum productivity, it is recommended to use the herbicide Express at a dosage of up to 50 g/ha or Express Gold 75 WG up to 40 g/ha, with the possibility of double application for control of several waves of weeds. The hybrid has high initial growth energy and good cold resistance, which contributes to successful plant development in various agro-climatic conditions. The recommended sowing density varies depending on soil moisture: up to 55 thousand plants per hectare in zones with sufficient moisture and about 50 thousand under conditions of insufficient moisture.
