Lluna sunflower is an annual decorative plant from the Asteraceae family, distinguished by its bright lemon-yellow flowers with a dark velvety center. The plant has an upright, branched stem reaching up to 50 cm in height, bearing 4 to 6 large flower heads. Blooming occurs from July to October, making Lluna sunflower an excellent choice for cut flowers and decorative landscaping of gardens, lawns, and hedges.
This sunflower variety is well-adapted to Ukrainian conditions, featuring a frost tolerance zone of 9-10 and the ability to withstand frost down to -6°C. The plant prefers sunny spots with fertile, loose, and moist soil, as well as moderate sunlight. Sowing seeds is recommended in open ground from March to May, at a depth of about 5 cm and spacing of approximately 30 cm between plants. Germination is rapid, ensuring early and abundant blooming.
