Sunflower Lluna

Field Performance: Insights into RAGT Lluna Sunflower

When working with RAGT 2N genetics, you quickly learn to expect a certain level of precision. The Lluna hybrid is a prime example of French breeding aimed at high field performance without unnecessary complications. From an operator's perspective, this hybrid is built for efficiency, specifically designed for those who need consistency from sowing to harvest.

Harvesting Efficiency

Standing at a height of 90–100 cm, Lluna is notably shorter than many conventional hybrids. This compact structure is a major operational advantage. During harvest, the reduced biomass allows for faster header speeds and cleaner grain output in the tank. Lower plant height also translates into excellent lodging resistance; even under high wind conditions, the stalks remain intact, which directly protects the yield from harvest-time losses.

Field Management

• Genetic Reliability: Developed by RAGT 2N, the hybrid shows robust tolerance to common head diseases. This allows for a more flexible fungicide application schedule, helping to optimize input costs.
• Growth Uniformity: The fields are notably even, which makes monitoring the crop’s development during the season much simpler and more accurate.
• Resource Efficiency: Lluna responds well to standard fertilization protocols. There is no need for extreme input levels to reach its yield potential, making it a pragmatic choice for cost-conscious management.

In practice, the ease of handling this hybrid is its greatest asset. The plant maintains a perfect vertical stance, making it highly compatible with modern high-speed combine technology. By choosing Lluna, operators eliminate the headaches associated with lodging or excessive residue management. It is a reliable, high-performance tool for farmers who prioritize stable yields and machine efficiency.
