Sunflower LG 5542 KL is a mid-early hybrid with high yield potential, adapted for cultivation in various regions of Ukraine, particularly in the south and east. Plants reach an average height of about 152 cm, have an average head diameter of 15.9 cm, and a 1000-seed mass of about 71 grams. The hybrid is characterized by high oil content, reaching up to 48%, making it attractive for the oilseed industry. Yield potential is up to 37 centners per hectare, while crop stability and initial growth energy are rated high, ensuring reliable and efficient cultivation.
One of the key features of LG 5542 KL is its resistance to the herbicide Euro-Lightning® within the Clearfield® production system, which facilitates weed control and improves the efficiency of agro-technologies. The hybrid also exhibits high drought tolerance and stress resistance, allowing successful cultivation in areas with insufficient moisture. Additionally, the plant is resistant to lodging and cold-hardy, expanding its cultivation possibilities under various climatic conditions.
LG 5542 KL differs in high resistance to a range of diseases, including phomopsis, white root and head rot, black stem, dry rot, and phoma. Special attention is paid to resistance to Helminthosporium stem rot— the hybrid is resistant to 7 races of this parasite (A-G), which is especially important for regions affected by this pest. The recommended planting density varies from 45 to 53 thousand plants per hectare depending on soil moisture, which contributes to optimal development and maximum yield.
