Sunflower Iva

Genetic Potential and Hybrid Structure

The «Iva» sunflower is a simple hybrid developed through the collaborative efforts of breeders Agrigenetics, Dragan Skoric, and Triumph Seed. The producer and patent holder is the Serbian entity Drustvo organicenom odgovornoscu NUSE. Utilizing a simple hybrid cross, this variety is designed to achieve maximum crop uniformity, which is a critical factor for consistent head maturation and optimized performance during harvesting operations.

Morphological Characteristics

The plant reaches a height of 190–200 cm. This specific height profile is engineered to balance vegetative mass with stem structural integrity, providing robust resistance to lodging. Under intensive farming conditions, this architectural design allows the hybrid to develop a deep and efficient root system, ensuring access to soil moisture and essential nutrients even in water-limited environments.

Technical Profile

The Serbian breeding heritage behind «Iva» is characterized by high adaptability to the environmental stresses typical of Southeastern Europe. The resulting high degree of heterosis translates into reliable yield performance when planting density and nutrient management are optimized. The balanced phenotype simplifies field management during the growing season and mitigates potential losses from adverse climatic events, making it a stable choice for modern sunflower production.
