Sanbro MR is a hybrid of early-maturing, extensive-type sunflower developed by Syngenta, a leader in seed and crop protection. This hybrid is suitable for cultivation in all climatic zones of Ukraine, demonstrating high drought resistance and excellent yield performance, especially in dry areas of the Southern Steppe. Sanbro MR pollen maintains high viability at high temperatures during flowering, contributing to stable yield formation.
Plants are of medium height — from 140 to 170 cm, with strong growth rates in the early vegetative stage. A well-branched root system ensures stem strength and resistance to lodging. Sanbro MR has natural resistance to many common diseases, including five races of downy mildew (A–E), and also exhibits high resistance to false powdery mildew. However, the hybrid is weakly resistant to froge disease, so it is not recommended for cultivation in areas with high risk of infection by this disease.
Sanbro MR is typically grown using zero-till or minimal soil preparation programs. The hybrid negatively reacts to excessive nitrogen fertilizers, so mineral fertilizer application must be strictly controlled and regulated. This allows for optimized plant growth and development, ensuring high productivity and quality of the harvest.
