Description Magog
Magog sunflower is a high-yielding, early-maturing hybrid sunflower with a vegetation period of 105-110 days, developed for sustainable and stable growth in various climatic conditions. Plants reach a height of up to 178 cm, and the flower head diameter is approximately 26 cm, flat in shape and half-weeping. The hybrid belongs to the oil type with oil content in seeds up to 50%, providing high yield potential up to 55 centners per hectare. Due to its low maintenance and adaptability, Magog can be successfully grown in all climatic zones, particularly showing optimal results in the forest-steppe zone. The Magog hybrid exhibits high resistance to adverse environmental factors such as drought, high and low temperatures, as well as increased humidity. It also possesses high resistance to lodging and shattering, allowing it to retain yield even under challenging weather conditions. Additionally, the sunflower is resistant to major diseases, including phomopsis, phomosis, rust, false powdery mildew, gray and white rot, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss and the need for intensive chemical protection. For sowing Magog sunflower, operations should be conducted when the average daily temperature exceeds +5 degrees Celsius. The hybrid is designed for application of herbicides based on Granstar, enabling effective control of broadleaf and grass weeds in early vegetation stages without harm to the crop. The optimal planting density depends on soil moisture levels: at adequate moisture, 55-60 thousand plants per hectare are recommended; at moderate moisture — 50-55 thousand; and at insufficient moisture — up to 50 thousand. This ensures maximum productivity and stable yield under various growing conditions.
