Hysun 189 SU — this is a linoleic sunflower hybrid intended for oil production, with high oil content reaching 51-53%. It belongs to the mid-maturing group with a vegetation period of 110 to 127 days, allowing cultivation in various climatic zones, including steppes and forest-steppe regions. Seeds are black, and plants reach a height of 157 to 170 cm with a flower head diameter of 16.5-18.8 cm, ensuring good yield and ease of harvesting.

The hybrid exhibits high resistance to sulfonylurea-based herbicides, particularly to products such as Granstar and Express, facilitating weed control and enhancing agronomic efficiency. It also demonstrates tolerance to sunflower rust strains A-E, and in some cases up to strain F, which is crucial for cultivation in areas at risk of infection by this parasitic plant. Additionally, Hysun 189 SU shows high resistance to major sunflower diseases, including white and gray mold, phomopsis, brown rust, false powdery mildew, and verticillium.
