Sunflower Guara

Spanish Genetics for High Oil Content

The 'Guara' sunflower hybrid by Hibrisol S.L. is a tailored choice for growers focusing on maximizing oil yield per hectare. Spanish originators (Hibrisol S.L. and Eurosemillas) prioritized consistency within the mid-early maturity segment. With a vegetation period of 110–120 days, the hybrid offers predictable maturation, which is crucial for efficient logistics and drying operations.

Protection and Agronomics

The core strength of 'Guara' lies in its genetic resistance to aggressive pathogens. Issues like Sclerotinia and Phomopsis, which often claim up to 20% of yields in fields with intensive crop rotation, are significantly mitigated here. The flattened shape of the medium-sized head facilitates rapid moisture shedding, preventing seed rot before harvest.

• Oil Content: A range of 50–55% makes this hybrid a premium raw material for oil processing plants.
• Plant Height: A moderate 150–160 cm simplifies harvesting, minimizing mechanical grain loss.
• Hybrid Type: A simple hybrid, ensuring uniform emergence and simultaneous ripening across the field.

Who is this hybrid for?

'Guara' is ideally suited for farms operating in temperate-continental climates. While it may not be the primary choice for extremely arid zones, it demonstrates maximum potential in soils with sufficient moisture retention. Choosing this hybrid is a strategic move if you seek a balance between high yield and superior oil quality, while simultaneously reducing the need for costly fungicide applications due to its robust natural immunity.
