Guara sunflower is a high-yielding mid-ripening hybrid, adapted for cultivation in various soil-climate conditions of Ukraine, including Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe. The vegetation period is approximately 118 days, ensuring stable maturation and high yield. The hybrid is characterized by a moderately-extensive cultivation type, making it suitable for conventional agronomy. Recommended seeding rate varies depending on soil moisture: 50-55 thousand seeds per hectare under insufficient moisture, and 60-65 thousand/ha under sufficient moisture.
Guara exhibits high resistance to aggressive strains of downy mildew (volchka) with resistance group A-G+, as well as to lodging, froge disease, and sclerotinia of flower and stem. Plant height reaches 155 cm, flower diameter is approximately 24 cm, with the flower head tilted downward, which protects the seeds. Oil content in seeds is 51%, an important indicator for oilseed crops. The hybrid's potential yield reaches 55 ц/ha, while actual yields in different regions of Ukraine vary from 26 to 37 ц/ha.
Guara hybrid is characterized by high drought resistance and strong initial growth energy, ensuring successful plant development even under challenging climatic conditions. The producer is Mirasol (Spain), guaranteeing seed quality and compliance with modern selection standards. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, Guara sunflower is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve stable and high yields of oilseed crops.
