The hybrid sunflower ES Artic from the European company Euralis is a high-yielding early-maturing variety with a vegetation period of 100-110 days. Plants reach a height of up to 180 cm, and the flower head diameter is about 20 cm. Seeds are large, black, fully developed, with a 1000-seed weight of approximately 60 grams. The hybrid is characterized by high oil content (51-52%) and oleic acid (91-92%), making it particularly valuable for producing high-quality oil.
ES Artic exhibits high resistance to sunflower downy mildew, including up to 7 races (A-G), as well as tolerance to major diseases: fomopsis, head and stem sclerotinia, verticillium wilt, and fomosis. The hybrid's stress tolerance is highly rated, enabling stable yields even under adverse conditions. Recommended planting density varies depending on the growing zone: 60-65 thousand plants per hectare in well-watered zones and 50-55 thousand in poorly watered zones.
The hybrid ES Artic is suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe. Due to its high drought and lodging resistance, along with high oil content and seed quality, this sunflower is a profitable choice for farmers aiming for maximum yield and product quality.
