Sunflower ES Andromeda is a medium-early simple hybrid of the oilseed type, characterized by high yield potential and stable productivity. The vegetation period is 106-115 days, allowing the hybrid to be successfully grown under various soil-climatic conditions. Plants reach a height of about 165 cm, and the flower head diameter is 23 cm with a characteristic downward tilt. Seeds are black, with a 1000-seed weight of 56 grams, contributing to good energy content and early growth vigor (energy for early growth — 8). Seed oil content is in the range of 49-50%, ensuring high quality and profitability of the harvest. The ES Andromeda hybrid exhibits high drought resistance, lodging resistance, and resistance to major sunflower diseases, including tolerance to seven strains of downy mildew (Peronospora). Thanks to these characteristics, it demonstrates stable yield even under stressful growing conditions. Additionally, the hybrid is resistant to herbicides, simplifying crop care and protection. Yield potential reaches 5 tons per hectare, confirmed by practical results in various regions of Ukraine. Recommended growing zones for ES Andromeda include the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions of Ukraine, indicating its high adaptability. The hybrid is suitable for moderately intensive cultivation and ensures high-quality yields when agronomic requirements are met. The producer of this hybrid is the company Lidea, and seed packaging is typically sold in bags of 150,000 seeds, convenient for agricultural enterprises of any scale.
