ES Aramis — an early sunflower hybrid with a vegetation period of about 105 days, intended for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe. It is characterized by extremely rapid early growth, ensuring good plant establishment and development in the early stages. Plant height reaches 160 cm, the head diameter is about 22-23 cm, and the head is semi-downward inclined, facilitating harvest. The 1000-seed mass is 62 g, and seeds are treated with the protectants Tiram and Apron XL for protection against diseases and pests.
The ES Aramis hybrid exhibits high drought resistance, confirmed by a resistance rating of 9 points, as well as stable productivity under various growing conditions. It has high tolerance to common sunflower diseases, including resistance to 5 races of downy mildew (A-E), as well as to fomopsis, fomosis, verticillium wilt, and stalk and head sclerotinia with ratings from 7 to 8 points. Additionally, the hybrid is resistant to lodging and shattering, which contributes to yield retention and improved quality.
The recommended planting density ranges from 50 to 65 thousand plants per hectare, depending on the moisture zone: 50-55 thousand/ha for moisture-deficient zones and 60-65 thousand/ha for adequately moist zones. The hybrid’s yield potential reaches 50 centners/ha (5 tons/ha), with oil content in seeds ranging from 48 to 49%, making ES Aramis a profitable choice for oilseed production. The hybrid responds well to balanced mineral nutrition, optimal irrigation, and early planting dates, allowing maximum potential to be realized and achieving stable high yields.
