The hybrid sunflower 'Baykonur' is the result of the work of Kazakh breeders of OXMK 'Oilseed Crops'. This variety belongs to the mid-early maturity group with a vegetation period of about 100 days, ensuring timely ripening and enabling effective use in various climatic conditions. The plants are characterized by high ecological plasticity and are ideally uniform in height, reaching 150-155 cm, which promotes even growth and simplifies crop maintenance.
'Baykonur' demonstrates resistance to a range of diseases, including false powdery mildew, downy mildew, and is tolerant to white and gray mold. Additionally, the hybrid shows resistance to drought and lodging, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in regions with variable weather conditions. During the vegetation period, there are uniform seedlings and even flowering and ripening phases, positively affecting the overall quality of the harvest.
The yield of the hybrid ranges from 30 to 34.5 centners per hectare, with the 1000-seed mass varying from 60.3 to 71 grams. The oil content of the seeds reaches 50%, ensuring high efficiency in processing. The sunflower head size reaches 20 cm, promoting the formation of large and high-quality seed material. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the Akmola and East Kazakhstan regions, where it demonstrates stable and high productivity.
