The hybrid sunflower Tenet is a high-yielding, early-maturing variety developed by Ukrainian breeders of the VNIIS company. It features medium plant height of about 155 cm, facilitating mechanized harvesting. The vegetation period lasts 100-105 days, and the flower head is slightly convex with a diameter of about 15 cm and a semi-tilted position. Tenet exhibits high plasticity regarding sowing dates and is adapted to various agro-climatic conditions, enabling successful cultivation in steppe, forest-steppe, and forest zones of Ukraine.
One of the key features of this hybrid is the high oil content of its seeds, reaching 50%, making it attractive for industrial sunflower oil production. The yield potential reaches up to 45 centners/ha, and the hybrid demonstrates stable performance even under drought conditions due to its robust root system, effectively utilizing soil moisture. The recommended plant density at harvest varies depending on soil moisture levels and ranges from 50,000 to 60,000 plants/ha.
Tenet shows high resistance to major sunflower diseases, including false powdery mildew, Phomopsis, Phomoz, white and gray rot, and rust. Resistance to lodging and shattering reduces yield losses and enhances product quality. Thanks to these characteristics, the hybrid reduces fungicide application costs and ensures reliability and profitability for farmers.
