The Arsenal OR sunflower hybrid is a simple interline hybrid developed within a selection-genetic program aimed at enhancing resistance to downy mildew, particularly race G. It belongs to the mid-early maturity group with a vegetation period of approximately 97 days, allowing effective utilization in various climatic conditions. The paternal line of the hybrid is homozygous for the dominant Or7 gene, providing stable resistance to downy mildew and other diseases.
Arsenal OR stands out for its high yield — up to 3.97 tons per hectare — and high oil content in seeds, reaching 46.8%. Plants have a medium height of about 175 cm and a robust, branched root system capable of extracting moisture from depths up to 3 meters, which contributes to the hybrid’s adaptability to various soil types and climatic conditions.
