Tornado

TORNADO is a sugar beet hybrid intended for cultivation in the Volga-Vyatka region. It belongs to mid-season varieties with a growing period of 150-160 days. The root crop has a broadly conical shape of medium length with immersion in the soil of approximately three quarters, which facilitates its extraction and reduces the degree of contamination during harvesting. The average weight of the root crop is about 762 grams, and the shape of the leaf rosette is spreading.

The hybrid is distinguished by high yield — up to 93 tons per hectare, while the sugar content in the root crops reaches 17.3-19.7%, which ensures a sugar output of about 16.1 tons per hectare. TORNADO is characterized by high resistance to ramularia and root rots, as well as high storability during storage, which makes it advantageous for long-term storage and processing. In addition, the hybrid shows high drought resistance and is adapted to acidic soils, which expands its cultivation possibilities.
