TIZA — a sugar beet hybrid intended for cultivation in the Central Black Earth, North Caucasus, and Ural regions. This mid-season variety has a vegetation period of about 120 days, characterized by high yield and good sugar content. The root crops are cylindrical, medium-sized, weighing about 700 grams, with a smooth surface, which facilitates harvesting and reduces soil adhesion. The leaf rosette is semi-spreading, with medium-sized leaf blades and moderate corrugation. The root system penetrates up to 2 meters deep, ensuring the plant's stability against adverse weather conditions, such as drought and frost.
The variety is distinguished by high root crop yield: in the Central Black Earth region, the average figure reaches 421 centners per hectare, in the North Caucasus — 466.3 c/ha, and in the Ural region, yield can reach 556 c/ha. Sugar content varies from 17.2% to 18.2%, ensuring high sugar collection — up to 99 c/ha. TIZA exhibits resistance to root rots, however, it is susceptible to cercosporosis and root rot, and mild powdery mildew infection is noted.
The hybrid is widely used in the food industry and agriculture. Root crops are used for sugar and molasses production, as well as in cooking for traditional dishes such as borscht and kvass. Additionally, TIZA serves as a waste-free fodder crop. Sowing seeds is recommended in April at a depth of 2-3 cm with a row spacing of 20x50 cm, harvesting is carried out from July to September.
