Sunflower Elena

Consistent Yields for Modern Farming

The «Elena» sunflower hybrid, developed by the Serbian company Drustvo organicenom odgovornoscu NUSE, is engineered for farmers who prioritize yield predictability and operational efficiency. With a vegetation period of 100–110 days, this hybrid fits perfectly into crop rotations that require timely harvesting and land preparation for subsequent crops.

Tech-Driven Crop Management

The primary advantage of «Elena» is its genetic resistance to imidazolinone herbicides (the «Euro-Lightning» production system). In practical field operations, this allows for the seamless management of aggressive weeds and broomrape without the need for multiple mechanical inter-row cultivations. This not only reduces labor costs but also helps preserve soil moisture, which is vital in dry climates.

Production Specifications

• Oil Content: A stable range of 45–50%, making the harvest highly attractive for oil processing plants.
• Morphology: The grey-striped seeds are medium-sized, and the slightly convex head structure ensures efficient threshing with standard harvesting equipment, minimizing grain loss.
• Origin: Developed by Dragan Skoric, this hybrid reflects the high standards of Serbian sunflower breeding, known for its strong stress resistance.

«Elena» is an excellent choice for intensive farming setups. Its flexibility allows it to deliver a high-quality, high-weight crop even under moderate water availability, making it a reliable workhorse for commercial farms.
