BTS 980 Sugar Beet is a high-yielding hybrid of the new generation, designed for cultivation in various soil-climatic conditions across Russia, including the Central Chernozem and North Caucasus regions. The root crop has a wide-conical shape and is fully buried in the soil, which contributes to its stability and yield quality. The average root weight is about 666 grams, ensuring high crop productivity.

The hybrid has a high sugar content — approximately 16.5% — enabling significant sugar harvests of up to 100.4 centners per hectare at an average root yield of 610 centners per hectare. BTS 980 exhibits good resistance to several diseases, including fusarium rots, root rots, root maggots, and powdery mildew, significantly reducing crop losses and improving yield quality. However, the variety is susceptible to cercosporosis, requiring attention during agronomic practices.
